How To Choose A Good Newborn Photographer
Choosing your Newborn Photographer can be difficult and over whelming! It's a big decision, not only are you entrusting this person with your brand new precious baby, but you're also going to be looking at the final images for years to come!
There are two main newborn session types: lifestyle and posed. A good photographer will ask you about the vision you want and incorporate that into their style. Lifestyle sessions are more candid and often captured in the client’s home.
Posed sessions are the images where baby is all wrapped or posed on a multitude of backgrounds and setups with a variety of accessories.

So without further ado, here are 8 tips to consider when choosing your newborn photographer:
1) Are they Licensed? Every legitimate business should be licensed, period!
2) Ask questions: How long has the photographer been working with newborns? How many newborns have they photographed approximately? Does the photographer shoot with an assistant?
3) Do they practice safe posing techniques? A strained face or claw like fingers can be indicators that babies are experiencing discomfort (though sometimes they can simply be characteristic of a baby in particular).
4) Has your photographer attended any newborn baby posing workshops? One of the best ways to ensure your photographer practices safe posing techniques is through their attendance at workshops aimed at teaching safe posing .
5) Be aware if the cost is really low: This may be an amateur in their portfolio-building stage and this means risking not having high quality images and/or not knowing how to properly pose/handle your newborn.
6) Research the Photographer: It is important to sit down and go through their website and portfolio to make sure it is quality work. Meeting them and seeing their studio is also not a bad idea.
7) Are parents and siblings/pets allowed to be in the session as well? If so, check in advance if there will be extra fees for additional family members.
8) Do they fit within your budget? You can find photographers at all price points, from $100 up to thousands of dollars! Know what your budget is then find the best photographer you can that fits within that budget.
Finding the perfect newborn photographer may take a little looking, but once you find them, you will have a photographer for life!
